Barely 100 years ago, most people relied on “home remedies” for pain relief. We’re not talking about the “snake oil” sold in country stores. We’re talking about herbal remedies passed down from generation to generation. Because these home remedies were based on years – sometimes centuries – of success.
Most of these home-brewed formulas were gentle. Most were safe. And many were remarkably effective.
That’s the idea behind Dr. Jeffrey’s Pain Relief Formula. Working with Dr. Jeffrey Greiff – a real flesh-and-blood M.D. – we’ve created an herbal pain formula designed to provide safe, gentle, yet no-holds-barred relief.
If nagging pain – of any kind – has been holding you or a loved one back, you’re about to discover a world of relief.
Different plants grow in different parts of the world. So every culture developed its own unique herbal tradition.
For example, herbalists in India discovered Boswellia fights against pain. Meanwhile, Native Americans – who didn’t have Boswellia – uncovered the pain-busting effects of white willow bark.
And so it went across the globe. The Chinese developed their own unique herbal tradition, while herbalists in the Americas, Europe, Africa, and elsewhere created their own.
So we brought together the gentlest, most effective pain-busters from every corner of the globe. The result is a formula made up of centuries of herbal wisdom… backed with solid science.
It’s a formula your great-grandmother probably would have trusted… but combined from sources she probably never could have imagined.
Western science is all agog over turmeric. There seems to be no end to its benefits. Yet India’s Ayurvedic healers have been using turmeric for centuries. And it appears to be especially good at fighting pain.
Over the last few years, Western doctors have developed an interest in this spice due to its unique characteristics. Curcumin – the active ingredient in turmeric – is a powerful antioxidant. It also calms systemic irritation, a common cause of pain.
And studies show it’s remarkably effective.
In 2009, doctors tested a turmeric extract against in volunteers with long-term knee pain. About half the volunteers took the turmeric extract. The rest followed a typical pain relief regimen.
Over 6 weeks, the turmeric group did just as well as the non-turmeric volunteers in every measure but one. And the turmeric group had 25% fewer adverse effects.1
U.S. and Korean researchers combed through studies on turmeric and curcumin in 2016. They found 8 trials tough enough to meet their search criteria.
The evidence from these trials showed turmeric and turmeric extracts are effective against joint pain. Enough so, that the authors called for larger, even tougher, studies to confirm the results.2
Boswellia is another pain buster from the Indian subcontinent. Often called “Indian frankincense,” this incense also contains powerful pain fighters.
Combined with curcumin extract, Boswellia beat a mainstream regimen for fighting long-term knee pain.3
In 2007, doctors showed Boswellia delivered long-lasting pain relief. They found Boswellia was effective over 6 months for easing joint pain. They also proved this pain relief lasted for at least a month beyond the date people stopped taking Boswelia.4
This is great… but let’s move beyond the Indian subcontinent. For our next ingredient, let’s visit the South Pacific.
About 800 years ago, Polynesian voyagers stumbled on a remarkable pain relief phenomenon. That’s when these seafaring people first arrived in New Zealand.
The Maori – New Zealand’s first inhabitants – were resourceful and adaptable. Their new home offered many riches from the sea. Among these riches were the large mollusks we now call green-lipped mussels.
Green-lipped mussels became a staple of the coastal Maori. But as these Polynesians moved inland, they ate fewer and fewer of these tasty mollusks.
When Europeans arrive in New Zealand centuries later, they found two distinct Maori communities. Coastal dwellers had hardly any joint problems… while those who lived inland suffered joint pain at about the same rate as Europeans.
The difference? The Maori who lived on the coast still ate green-lipped mussels (GLM).
Today, we know green-lipped mussels contain a unique Omega-3 fatty acid. And this fatty acid appears to bust pain like crazy.
Korean doctors found taking a GLM extract for 4 weeks cut long-term joint pain by 53%. After 8 weeks, that number jumped to 80%.5
In 2012, Australian doctors took things a step further.
In this 8-week study, subjects taking GLM extracts saw improvement in pain. They also showed less joint stiffness and greater flexibility.
But this University of Queensland study included another important measure. Stomach pain.
Most joint pain solutions have been a trade-off. You can ease your joint pain… but you’ll probably gain some stomach pain. GLM extracts change the equation.
In this 2012 study, people taking GLM extracts experienced significant joint pain relief. And they had 49% less stomach pain than those taking a more traditional Western approach.6
In other words, more relief… fewer nasty side effects. Not bad for a pain solution someone literally stumbled on.
Dr. Jeffrey’s Pain Relief Formula offers the best of traditional pain busters. But it also delivers the latest in scientific breakthroughs. So, along with time-tested favorites like turmeric and green-lipped mussel, you also get potent new players like MSM and hyaluronic acid (HA).
While joint pain is common, it’s not the only pain out there. Many people suffer from chronic muscle pain. And it’s just as frustrating as joint pain.
MSM appears to ease both types of pain.
University researchers in Arizona tested MSM – methylsulfonylmethane – on knee pain.
Fifty volunteers, aged 40 to 76 agreed to take wither MSM or a placebo. All of them has long-term knee pain.
Taking MSM twice a day resulted in less pain and better mobility. Those taking MSM also reported daily activities were easier. The placebo group didn’t enjoy these benefits.7
In a study on muscle pain, doctors gave healthy young men either MSM or a placebo for 10 days. Then they had the volunteers run just over 8-1/2 miles.
After this stress test, the placebo group had higher levels of chemicals linked to muscle damage. The MSM group, however, showed a boost in antioxidant capacity.8 In other words, MSM led to stronger defenses against free radical damage – even after stressful exercise.
You’ll find hyaluronic acid – HA for short – in almost every cell of your body. But it’s especially abundant in your joints, where it acts as a buffer against damage.
In 2012, Japanese doctors tested HA over the course of a full year.
The doctors recruited 60 volunteers with knee pain. The volunteers went through a 12-month exercise regimen to strengthen their quadriceps muscles. During that time, half took HA. The other half took a placebo.
Over the course of the year, both groups showed improvement in knee pain… but the HA group improved significantly more. Especially among those under 70 years old.9
So exercise may have produced some results… but adding HA appears to have led to a greater benefit.
But even these “new” discoveries have ancient roots.
MSM may seem new, but it’s not. Scientists just didn’t know to look for it. We’ve been eating it for… well, since forever. You’ll find MSM in tomatoes, Swiss chard, apples, alfalfa sprouts, and many other foods.
MSM is one of many reasons these foods are so healthy. Of course, the amounts of MSM in most of these foods are generally small… but the benefits accumulate.
Hyaluronic acid is harder to get. Bone broth is rich in this nutrient… but you probably don’t eat a lot of bone broth.
Leafy greens and citrus fruits may promote production of HA in your body. But to maximize your intake, a supplement containing HA may be your best bet.
One thing all these foods have in common? They’re part of an old-fashioned healthy diet. Which may help explain why chronic pain seems to be a bigger problem today than it was a few generations ago.
Our modern lifestyle has moved us away from the foods and herbs that naturally shut down pain. Dr. Jeffrey’s Pain Relief Formula brings you back to a time when natural solutions delivered maximum relief.
