Summary:Omega 3 fatty acids, more simply referred to as “Omega 3’s”, are a type of polyunsaturated fat that plays an important role in making up cell membranes throughout the body. Unlike other types of fat that the body needs, Omega 3 fatty acids cannot be made by the body itself, and must be obtained through food or supplementation.
