Nutrition Plays a Crucial Role in Your Metabolism!
First things first….Nutrition!
You’ve heard the expression, “you are what you eat”, but what’s not mentioned is, “…and what you absorb!”
You can easily maximize your fat burning even more if you digest and absorb foods properly.
I can’t express to you how critical it is to eat every 2.5-3.5 hours.
As you may already know, eating frequently and in small portions allows your body to become a metabolic machine… but this is not just eating anything, but eating the right foods every 2.3-3.5 hours.
This does not mean eating pasta, burgers and steak every 2.5 – 3.5 hours – No worries, I will cover what you should eat soon.
But, by doing this, you tell your body’s metabolism to rev up and burn more fat throughout the day.
Eating Properly and Frequently …
Let me put it to you this way:
Joe eats 2 meals a day assuming that this will make him lose weight because he feels that he is eating less calories.
JOE IS WRONG!
In reality, Joe’s body defense mechanism kicks in and stores his meals as body fat. This defense mechanism kicks in when the body fears it will starve.
Little does Joe know, his method is making him FAT!
By using the frequent feeding method, the body does not fear starvation, and therefore does not store what he eats as fat.
Eating 5-7 small portions throughout the day allows the blood sugar to be stable, allows the body to use the nutrients it needs and doesn’t store them, and allows your metabolic rate to increase.
The body is now conditioned to work like a fat burning machine!
What kind of foods do I need to eat?
Simple! Lean proteins, veggies and salads, complex carbs.
Foods that are closest to the way nature intended.
What the heck does this mean?
Let me guide you….
Lean protein: Fish, poultry, lean steaks, eggs and yes eat the yolk!
Veggies and Salad: the greener the better, but all other colors are welcome.
Complex carbs: brown rice, potatoes (sweet preferably because it has more nutrients and lower on the glycemic index) but white is ok, millet, quinoa, sprouted grains, beans…
You see, simple!
So you can have the burger, but just say no the bun, extra cheese and use lean beef.
And instead of fries as the side, make a side salad instead!
So now you have it down packed… the first of Metabolic Machine Nutrition Lesson
- Eat every 2.5-3 hours.
- Eat 5-7 meals a day
- Eat foods that are lean (animal proteins) and have lots of nutrients, especially veggies!!
Here is a sample of how my meals are like any day of the week:
Time What I eat 7:00 am Water with Lemon as soon as arising. 30 min. later plain yogurt or kefir with black currants or berries. 10:00 am 2-3 egg yolks and 1 white with Onions, red peppers and spinach cooked with raw butter or ghee. 1:00 pm Salmon baked with coconut oil, on top of leafy green salad, olive oil and Vinegar. 4:00 pm Whey Protein Shake with Juice Plus* 7:00 pm Quinoa Stuffed Red Peppers 2 10:00 p.m. Kefir 1 cup.
Not so hard after all!
And you can begin right away!
