University researchers in Japan exposed two groups of animals to 12 hours of light and 12 hours of darkness for 2 weeks. They gave one group quercetin. The 2nd group took a placebo.
After 2 weeks, they examined their subjects’ retinas. The quercetin group showed very little evidence of damage. But the placebo group suffered several types of free radical damage. So-called “programmed cell death” levels were also far lower in the quercetin group.3
In other words, quercetin-treated cells not only suffered less damage, they survived at higher rates.
#3 – Combating “Dry Eye”
